Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program

Nobody’s Perfect is a free, parent support and education program for parents/full time care givers of children from birth to age 5. Groups typically meet once a week for two hours over six weeks. Sessions are led by two trained facilitators. Parents are directly involved in deciding which parenting issues we will discuss. Session plans can change to address current needs and interests of parents. The program aims to create a friendly, safe and non-judgmental atmosphere where discussion and support are encouraged. Learning activities are presented that enable parents to understand their own situation. Nobody’s Perfect encourages self-help and mutual support.

Child minding and a nutritious snack are provided. Transportation assistance is available.

Anyone can register for this program. Just visit our office at 681 Marine Park Drive NE, Salmon Arm or call 250-832-2170. You may either leave your name with the receptionist or send an email to ida_hearder@familyresource.bc.ca. A facilitator will contact you prior to the beginning of the group to learn about your current parenting concerns and to ensure that the program is a good fit for you. Nobody’s Perfect is voluntary program designed to meet the needs of parents who may be young, or single, or who may be struggling financially, or have limited formal education, or are isolated socially, geographically or culturally.

Past participants tell us the program helped them feel less alone and that the problems they face are common problems shared by other parents of young children.
